The Showgirl Competition aims to find a young woman to act as an ambassador for rural NSW with her role involving many official and informal duties both at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and during her travels within NSW and overseas.

The contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech. Finalists are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs. Apart from their potential ambassadorial qualities, contestants are also judged on their involvement in and experience of rural affairs.

Queanbeyan’s  first representative in 42 years at the state-wide showgirl final  2017 Showgirl Winner and Zone 3 Finalist  Keely Pasfield

Keeley Pasfield won the zone finals held in Bungendore earlier this month and will head to the Sydney Royal Easter Show to represent the region in the hope of being named the ultimate winner.  Keeley was excited to represent the region and compete for a platform to make a change in rural communities.
